Premarital counseling helps couples improve their ability to communicate, set realistic expectations, and develop conflict-resolution skills. Study after study and years of conclusive research show that couples who have premarital counseling have stronger, stable, and more resilient marriages. Premarital counseling is an investment in your future as a married couple. When couples want to tie the knot, this helps it stay tied.

What is the process to book a wedding?

Contact me for a free 30 minute wedding consultation. The location can be at a local place like Panera Bread or Starbucks. Skype is another option. Payment can be by Paypal, Venmo, cash, or check. After payment, you will receive a contract and resources to help you with your wedding. Then we will schedule our next appointment.

How do we obtain a marriage license?

In Kansas, apply at the clerk of the district court. This office is normally in your county courthouse or a county annex. Kansas has a 3 day waiting period after you apply. In Missouri, apply at the recorder of deeds. You will need a marriage license from the state where the ceremony will be held, not where you hold residence. Check with county and state websites to get the necessary contact information.

Are our conversations considered private and confidential?
Yes. Sessions are protected under established rules of the Church with religious privilege. Sessions are also protected by state statute under the Kansas Confidential Clergy Communications Privilege Law. Communication with a duly ordained minister is private and confidential. Know that I will strictly guard your sessions as a confidential communication and protect your privacy.

How does self-pay protect clients?

Cash-based practices allow for quick scheduling, sessions, and solutions. Appointments do not require pre-qualification or referrals from outside agencies that may share personal information. Cash-based practices also increase confidentiality for clients. Insurance companies require clinical information to be released to document the necessity of care. Self-pay clients enjoy greater peace of mind in knowing that their information is secure and will not be scattered across multiple insurance claim repositories. Self-pay allows your sessions to remain truly private and confidential.
